A World of Vacation Options with Disney Vacation Club

I signed up for Disney Vacation Club while onboard a cruise with Disney Cruise Line. My young family had a few Walt Disney World vacations under our belt at this point, and with the magical experience of the cruise, we knew we wanted to make family vacations a priority. As an enlisted military family, we saw Disney Vacation Club as a way we could enjoy magical family vacations year after year.

 

One month after signing up for our Disney Vacation Club Membership, we received an assignment moving us from where we currently lived in Florida overseas to the United Kingdom. We had fully expected to spend our first vacation as Disney Vacation Club Members in a Disney Vacation Club Resort at Walt Disney World. We had no idea the level of vacation magic in store for us with our new membership.

 

Once we had relocated to the United Kingdom and had the chance to settle into our new home, I started looking at the ways we could use our Disney Vacation Club Membership outside of Disney Vacation Club Resorts in the United States. Because of the flexibility of our Disney Vacation Club Membership, we spent our first vacation as Disney Vacation Club Members at Disneyland Paris. It was such an unforgettable vacation, as we soaked in the magic of Disneyland Paris and then took the train that takes you directly from Disneyland Paris into the beautiful city of Paris to explore. I quickly discovered how our Disney Vacation Club Membership could open a whole new world of vacation adventures.

 

I decided to bank the next year’s Vacation Points. The following year, we used our banked points, current years’ points, and borrowed points from the upcoming year to take our dream vacation: a 7-Night Mediterranean Cruise on the Disney Magic with Disney Cruise Line. With ports of call in Italy, Greece, and Turkey, it was unlike any vacation we had ever dreamed of experiencing with our Disney Vacation Club Membership. We went from spending our days exploring ancient ruins in Ephesus, Turkey, the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, and the magnificent waterways of Venice, Italy, to the evenings enjoying incredible Broadway-style Disney shows and dining onboard the Disney Magic. We were seeing extraordinary things on the other side of the world, far from the magic of Walt Disney World but still encapsulated in the magic that only Disney can provide.

 

My family discovered that the flexibility of a Disney Vacation Club Membership allows us to enjoy our membership and the magic of Disney from anywhere in the world. There are exchange network locations worldwide, making it possible to use our Vacation Points for stays in exotic locales like Bali, Indonesia, and French Polynesia, and enjoy adventures in Europe and South America. There are hidden gems and exchange locations throughout the United States as well. With the flexibility of a Disney Vacation Club Membership, we discovered that the world is ours to explore.

 

Next summer, my family will be setting sail on the brand new Disney Wish for a Member exclusive voyage. We cannot wait to splash into the first-ever Disney attraction at sea, the AquaMouse, and partake in the Marvel and Frozen-themed dining experiences.

 

As I look to the future of my Disney Vacation Club Membership, I am thrilled about the possibilities, from National Geographic Expeditions to out-of-this-world adventures on the Galactic Starcruiser. I know, wholeheartedly, that the decision we made in 2012 to become Disney Vacation Club Members was one that has allowed my family to experience unforgettable vacations together. We have made and will continue to make memories together that we will cherish for a lifetime.
