Disney Vacation Club Tips

Favorite Place to Eat at the Disneyland Resort

The Disneyland Resort is home to iconic theme parks and world-class dining. Whether dining as a couple, with a group of friends, or with family, there is a Disneyland Resort restaurant perfect for every palate!

Napa Rose and Storytellers Cafe are just two of several wonderful dining locations inside Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. They are my family's favorite places to eat at the Disneyland Resort, as they are perfect for a celebration or a nice location to relax after a long park day. While their cuisines and ambiance differ, both have unique offerings that will impress all Guests.

Napa Rose is fantastic for a decadent meal taken at a leisurely pace. I recently dined there with friends, and we luxuriated in the California-inspired cuisine with fantastically paired wine accompaniments. My favorite dishes were the Portabella Mushroom "Cappuccino" and Herb Potato Gnocchi. The superior service and seasonal menu ensure that no two meals here are the same, making every meal here memorable.

Napa Rose also offers the whimsical Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures, perfect for the little royal in your life. This experience is offered on select mornings and features a multi-course breakfast and greetings with some of the most beloved Disney Princesses. My little ones always marvel when they meet a favorite Disney character, and this parade of princesses will excite you and your little one! It is a perfect special experience for a multigenerational visit.

Another of my most highly recommended dining locations is Storytellers Cafe. This all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet has something for everyone! During Mickey's Tales of Adventure enjoy breakfast or brunch, while receiving tableside greetings from Mickey and his pals. I'll never forget the adorable interaction between my mom and Pluto during her birthday breakfast last year. I love how character dining brings out the child in everyone, and Storytellers Cafe is the perfect spot for Mouseketeers of all ages. There are also seasonal offerings here throughout the year like Storytellers Cafe Holiday Dinner, making this a place to visit again and again.

At the Disneyland Hotel, there are also some no-to-be-missed dining locations. My favorites are Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Goofy’s Kitchen. Both are perfect when you need a rest from the theme parks but still want a dose of Disney magic!

Trader Sam’s will transport you to a tropical oasis with its island theming. If you’re seated inside, be sure to order the Uh-Oa! drink for a fun, immersive experience! My husband and I have enjoyed date nights here, but it’s also great for small groups. Recently I visited with two planDisney pals and DVC members, Jenna and Susan. We enjoyed the outdoor patio while we sipped on tiki drinks and munched on my favorite snack - the Tempura-Battered Green Beans.

Dining at Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is a core memory-making experience. My first visit was with my mom when I was little and I was blown away that Goofy and friends visited us as we ate breakfast! I love this character dining location because guests of all ages can interact, sing, and play with Disney characters at breakfast and dinner. The silly shenanigans will almost make you forget the all-you-can-eat Mickey Waffles at breakfast and the dinner dessert buffet. (Almost!) There are so many food options that even my pickiest eater leaves with a full belly, asking when we can go back!

My family and friends have enjoyed making special memories by dining at the Disneyland Resort. I love that I can count on a dash of pixie dust and a lot of magic while enjoying a meal at The Happiest Place on Earth!
