Hi, I am trying to book some dining reservations. My family and I are staying January 30 - February 7 however we are switching Disney resorts on February 4. I can’t seem to book anything pasted the 4th is it because we are switching resorts?

    Hi Stephanie!

Welcome to planDisney!  I’m so happy you stopped by to dish on one of my favorite topics - dining!

I don’t know about you, but with so many great restaurants throughout Walt Disney World Resort, sometimes my hardest vacation decision is choosing where to eat!  Since you are a Guest staying in the Disney Resorts Collection, you have an advantage to book your dining reservations for the length of your reservation 60 days before checking in.  However, when it comes to dining reservations, split stays are treated as separate reservations, which means you can book for the entire length of your first stay 60 days before arrival, and then you have another dining reservation window that opens 60 days from your second check-in date for the remainder of your trip.

I had my best luck securing some hard-to-get reservations for later in my stay to really take advantage of that early booking window for on-site Guests.  While I’m sending lots of pixie dust that you get all of your top-choice dining reservations as your windows open, I’d also like to share that I’ve had pretty good luck over the years with more reservations opening up closer to my arrival as others may change their plans.  You can also check Mobile Walk-up Availability at many Table-Service locations while on vacation!

If you’re still deciding where to dine, I’m happy to share a few of my favorite “hidden gems."  Ale & Compass Restaurant is always a hit for me, and it’s conveniently located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, which is within walking distance of the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT.  If you visit, I recommend the New England Seafood Pot Pie!  Another favorite of mine is Grand Floridian Cafe, located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  I like to stop here for breakfast before heading to Magic Kingdom Park for the day.  My top choice on the breakfast menu is the Avocado Toast - along with a mimosa!

Stephanie, I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy planning your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort.  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
