Hey there, Brandon, and welcome to planDisney!
I can’t imagine going to the Disney Parks with my family of four without using the
Rider Switch Service. My younger son isn’t quite tall enough or ready to take on some of the more thrilling attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. So, when my older kiddo rides
Slinky Dog Dash with me, my younger one is on the move with my husband riding the nearby
Alien Swirling Saucers. Then, we switch! It’s not ideal to be apart for long, but I am more than happy to share what options you have.
First, set up Rider Switch Service with a Cast Member who is by an attraction’s entrance. You will need to scan the tickets or MagicBands+ of the party members who will ride second. After the first group goes through the standby queue, the second group (who waited with the little one) will then tap into the
Lightning Lane to ride.
Here’s the good news: If your daughter meets the minimum height requirement for an attraction, she can go through the queue with you. Right before the main attraction, she and the non-riding adult can hop out of the queue. In that case, you wouldn’t be separated for long. If your kiddo isn’t tall enough, then she’ll have to wait outside of the queue.
Another option to keep the separation at a minimum is for everyone who wants to ride to have a purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass. The first riding group goes through the faster Lightning Lane and the second group would also go through the Lightning Lane. This will be a lot quicker than having only the second group go through the Lightning Lane.
I’m wishing on the evening star that you have an amazing vacation, Brandon. If you have any other Disney vacation planning questions,
