What do I have to show the water taxi operator if I take it from Disney springs?

Hey there Elizabeth and welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you're looking to hop on one of my favorite forms of Walt Disney World Resort transportation - a relaxing ride on a Sassagoula River Cruise as you drift away from Disney Springs. Since it also seems like you're already here in Orlando, I knew I had to get to your question in order to help you out as soon as possible!

So many of our fellow guests regularly enjoy using complimentary water transportation from Disney Springs to Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside where they can visit the grounds, try some delectable dining options and even experience some select recreational activities. In order to take this transportation here's what you'll need to show the Cast Members captaining the watercraft before you can set sail:

    • Nothing at all (there is currently no proof of a Disney Resort Hotel stay nor dining reservation required to be shown prior to boarding)!
    • A happy smile!
Pay attention to each of the designated waiting areas where guests will line up separately depending on their destination; the Cast Members will often check with the folks and families waiting just to make sure everyone is headed the right way, as you wouldn't want to have to backtrack more than once on these winding waterways if you aren't certain of where you'd like to end up. You'll also want to take note of the different colored flags on each boat that correspond to each route!

Personally, my husband and I love hopping on a boat right around sunset to see the dazzling reflections on the water and witness the lights turning on all over Disney Springs. There's just something extra magical about drifting along in the evening air, and we like to keep our eyes peeled for wildlife sightings along the way. I hope this helps you prepare to set sail, Elizabeth - and don't hesitate to come back to planDisney again for any other tips or tricks during your stay here at Walt Disney World Resort!

Don't forget to make a quick stop for beignets before you board your boat again!
