We will be staying at Beach Club and would like to visit some of the nearby resorts one of the days. Any suggestions , three boys in tow as well. We want to see Port Orleans riverside. Is it better to do this after Disney Springs or from Beach Club?

Hi there Susie, wishing you a great Canadian welcome to planDisney!

We were just recently at Disney's Beach Club Resort this past month, and its prime location is great for checking out the nearby Disney Resort Hotels; we like to spend entire days just exploring the ones found along the Disney Skyliner route and ending our evenings around Disney's BoardWalk with all of the entertainment you'll find before the sky lights up with the nearby fireworks from Luminous The Symphony of Us.

Getting to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside does take an additional step to get to from Disney's Beach Club Resort, and we always find it best to go directly from Disney Springs. There's a dock over past the Marketplace district where you can hop on the complimentary boat transportation for a Sassagoula River Cruise for the most scenic journey over! I recommend spending the day at Disney Springs and doing this as the sun sets for some beautiful views on the water.

You can easily spend a day exploring and enjoying recreational activities like renting bikes to ride along the tree-lined pathways, trying some old-timey pole fishing or even setting out on a horse-drawn carriage excursion a before enjoying an evening roasting marshmallows on Ol' Man Island (typically between 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.). Offerings and pricing are subject to change without prior notice, and though there are typically not restricted to guests necessarily staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, it's always a good idea to check with the Cast Members just in case policies have changed for select experiences by the time of your visit.

Personally, I also recommend taking the pathways or even a short boat ride to end your day as the lights turn on around Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter for a chance to share some of the best food on Walt Disney World Resort property in my opinion; from warm gumbo to shrimp and grits and especially the iconic beignets that folks and families make the trek out for. The best part about spending a resort-hopping day just like this, is that it's a great way to get excited for Tiana's Bayou Adventure opening this year in Magic Kingdom Park!

And as they say in down in New Orleans, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"
