MagicBand+ pairing with Smart Phone; Minnie Mouse band

    I have a new magic band plus for my son that I have linked to his account (I manage his account). I want to use his old magic ban plus. How do I link it to me? And Unlink the current one that I am using?

    Hiya, Elena! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney. You've got a friend in me, and I'm here to help make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation as magical as can be. I see that you're arriving TOMORROW (hooray!), so we certainly can't be late for this very important date!

    OK, let's talk MagicBand+. These pixie-dusted wristbands function as a key to your Disney Resort Hotel and a theme park ticket, and can be used as a one-touch payment method, too! The MagicBand+ is the newest upgrade to the original MagicBand and has some extra-special interactive features like lights and vibrations. I acquired my first MagicBand+ just this past fall on our planDisney training trip, and it is so much fun!

    Elena, you can have multiple MagicBands linked to your account and use them interchangeably! My youngest is something of a fashionista and she likes to have options to coordinate with her various Disney fits during our vacations.  This means that you don't have to worry about unlinking the new band, as all active bands or cards assigned to a Guest have access to any benefits and entitlements for that individual. 

    To make sure the old band that your son wishes to use is active and linked, your first stop will be the My Disney Experience app, where you can see all of the MagicBands and cards assigned to him. 

    • From the home screen, click the three lines at lower right (the "hamburger" menu), then select the "MagicBands and More" tile.
    • You'll see a section for "Guests Managed by Me" where your son's profile should show up. Any active MagicBands or Admission Cards linked to his profile will appear here. So, if the old band that he wishes to use was linked to him, it should still show up in the app and you are good to go!
    • If the old band was not linked, just select the "MagicBand+" option, then press the "+ Link" button. The app will walk you through the steps to link the old band and you will be ready to rock!
