I’m trying to purchase a season pass but I won’t give me the monthly plan option

Greetings, Belen, and welcome to planDisney! You're about to have a fantastic year with a Magic Key pass. There's nothing quite like visiting the Happiest Place on Earth knowing you'll be back soon. But the first step is getting your pass – I can help!

At this time, monthly payments for Magic Key passes are only available to California residents. My best guess as to why you aren't seeing that option is that you might not have the right address saved in your MyDisney account. From the MyDisney profile page, there should be a button or link to manage your account. Confirm that the billing address listed is your valid California address.

With a California address tied to your account, you should be able to choose the monthly payment option after selecting a Magic Key pass during the purchase process. Currently, a down payment is due at the time of purchase, with the remaining cost split into 12 monthly payments. Just be aware that the first monthly payment is charged that day or shortly afterward.

As you get closer to getting a Magic Key pass, be sure to compare the available passes. Each one has its own set of blockout dates (when the pass can't be used), as well as varied levels of discounts and other benefits. I visit the Resort often as a local, so I chose to get the Inspire Key – it currently includes standard parking at select lots, the best discounts of the Magic Key passes, unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads, and the fewest blockout dates. The Explore Key is a great option, especially since it includes select dates during the summer, and even Sundays at certain parts of the year. You can decide which is best for you.

If you don't have it already, make sure to download the Disneyland mobile app. Sign in to it using the same account you used when purchasing your Magic Key. It's a convenient way to make and manage theme park reservations on the go! Tap the plus sign icon at the bottom of the screen and then tap "Make a Park Reservation." Then follow the prompts to select the dates you'd like to reserve. The number of reservations you can hold at one time depends on which pass you have. Just remember to modify or cancel your reservations by 11:59 p.m. the night before if you know you won't be able to make it to the park. Otherwise, you'll get a no-show, and you don't want to get three of those within a 90-day window.

Belen, I hope you're able to get the Magic Key pass you've been dreaming of. I've had one for a long time and am happy to help with any questions you might have. Feel free to send me another question. Of course, you can also reach out to any of the amazing panelists at planDisney – we're always happy to help!

    Wishing you magic,
    Kriss
