Hi, We will be a group of 5 coming to Disney in May. I will download our tickets on the app but will also bring the tickets. How do I attach the lightning lane tickets to our tickets? Will everyone need to have a wrist band or something.

Hi Millicent! Welcome to planDisney! You’re already off to a great start getting everything organized ahead of your visit. (That’s the kind of preparation that makes your park days feel smooth from the very first scan at the entrance).

Great choice with Lightning Lane Multi Pass! It’s one of the best ways to make the most of your time in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. If you’ve already purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass, there’s nothing extra you need to “attach.” It’s automatically linked to each valid park ticket in your party through the Disneyland app. Once everyone scans into the park, you’ll be able to start booking Lightning Lane return times right away. And if you haven’t purchased it yet, you can easily do so in the app after you enter. No wristbands or additional devices are needed. Your ticket (and the app) is all you need.

When it comes to managing a group of five, one helpful approach is to have one person act as the “planner” in the Disneyland app. After linking everyone’s tickets, that person can book Lightning Lane selections for the entire group at the same time, which keeps things coordinated and simple.

Here’s a helpful tip to keep your day running like clockwork: aim to book your first Lightning Lane selection for approximately an hour after rope drop, especially for popular attractions like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, or Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! The first hour of the day can see some of the shortest wait times, so use that time to get a “head start” while waiting for your first Lightning Lane return time.

And here’s one final Q-Tip to help you stay one step ahead: you can hold more than one Lightning Lane reservation at a time. After making a selection, you can book another once you’ve used your current return time or after two hours have passed (whichever comes first). For example, if you book a Matterhorn Bobsleds return time at 9:00 a.m. for later in the afternoon, you can set a reminder and grab another Lightning Lane around 11:00 a.m. without losing that earlier reservation. Using a phone alarm or watch notification can really help you stay on top of those booking windows.

You’re setting yourself up for a well-organized and fun-filled visit, Millicent. With a little planning and the Disneyland app in hand, your group will be hopping from one great experience to the next with ease. If you have any additional questions, please visit here again at planDisney.

    Happy Adventuring!
