Hi, planning on a trip at the Disneyland resort within next few weeks. I have a couple questions 1.) do the mini fridges in the room have a freezer? 2.) Are there any incidentals charges, if so how much and is it per night and do they take credit or debit

Welcome to planDisney, Megan! How exciting that you have a visit to Disneyland planned. Staying at the hotels of the Disneyland Resort makes an already delightful trip even more whimsical. I am happy to help you gather the last few details for your stay.

Let’s start with the in-room refrigerator. The mini fridges in Disneyland Resort hotel rooms do not include a freezer compartment. If you happen to be bringing along anything that needs to stay frozen (like medication or special items), there is a helpful backup option. You can stop by Bell Services at your hotel and request freezer storage. They’re wonderful about assisting with this, and it’s a great solution that lets you enjoy your park day without worrying about keeping things cold (especially helpful if you’re heading out early for rope drop at Disneyland Park or catching an evening spectacular like World of Color Happiness! over in Disney California Adventure Park).

Now, onto incidental charges. Yes, Disneyland Resort hotels do place a hold for incidentals at check-in. Currently, that hold is typically $250 as a one-time authorization, not a nightly fee. This amount is placed on the card you provide when you check in and is used to cover any in-room charges or purchases you might make during your stay.

Once you check out, any unused portion of that hold is released. If you use a credit card, you’ll usually see this as a pending authorization that drops off after a few business days, depending on your card issuer. If you use a debit card, the funds are withdrawn from your account and then returned after checkout, which can take a little longer depending on your bank. Because of that timing difference, many guests prefer using a credit card for a bit more flexibility.

Megan, you’re well on your way to a fantastic visit filled with fun, comfort, and a little extra pixie dust behind the scenes. If any other questions pop up as your trip gets closer, we at planDisney are always happy to help you map things out.

I hope you have a stay filled with unforgettable Disneyland adventures!
