Greetings, Dayna, and welcome to planDisney! I love that the Lightning Lane Multi Pass is on your radar – it's a great way to fit more into your day at the Disneyland Resort.
The
Lightning Lane Multi Pass grants access to the Lightning Lane entrances at a number of attractions. These entrances lead to shorter lines that bypass the standby lines. I especially love using this pass when I'm with family members who don't come to the Resort often. They need to make the most of every moment, and this pass helps with that.
With the multi pass, you'll select one attraction at a time. On the
Disneyland mobile app, you'll browse through the available attractions, select an arrival window, and head to the attraction when it's time. As soon as you redeem your Lightning Lane selection, you can make your next pick. Or, if two hours have passed, you can make another selection, too.
You can book each attraction once, and you'll want to strategize, because some attractions are more likely to have later return windows than others, especially as the day progresses. I recommend prioritizing Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in California Adventure. Remember that, while there are multi pass attractions in both parks, you'll need a
Park Hopper ticket or
Magic Key pass to move between parks.
Here are a few other tips:
- Get to the park early – once you enter, you can make your first selection. The sooner in the day you start booking your selections, especially for the more popular attractions, the better. Plus, if you're purchasing the multi pass on the day of your visit, you'll want to do so right after you've scanned in. There have been times when it has sold out.
- If your arrival window is later in the day, you could try to modify it to see if an earlier time slot is available. This has worked out well for me on a few occasions!
- With the multi pass, you'll receive unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos for the day. It's a great opportunity to have photos taken at iconic locations across the Resort.
Lightning Lane Single Passes are available for a few of the most popular attractions not included in the multi pass. You can purchase those separately on the day of your visit once you are in the park. For the ultimate experience, you could consider purchasing the
Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which doesn't require arrival windows and includes all Lightning Lane attractions.
If you're interested in getting the multi pass for your upcoming trip, see if you have the option to
upgrade your existing ticket on the Disneyland website or mobile app. If you don't, then plan to purchase the pass after you scan into the park.
Dayna, I hope you have a wonderful time visiting the Happiest Place on Earth. If you think of any other questions, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
