Hi Cameron, and welcome to planDisney! There are so many exciting changes happening at the
BoardWalk Villas right now, with new eateries (
Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and
The Cake Bake Shop) and the ongoing room refurbishment.
Currently, most Deluxe Studios have been updated with the new Murphy beds, but I spoke to a Cast Member and there are still a few rooms that haven’t been completed yet. While the timeline can change, there’s a good chance the remaining rooms will be complete by the summer.
My fellow panelist, Mandy,
shared a great tip about checking the Disney World website for Resort refurbishment clues. If you go to the
BoardWalk Villas page and click the “Room Rates” tab, the pictures still show the rooms with pull-out sofas. In her experience, that page will show photos of the refurbished rooms once the whole Resort is complete.
I’m wishing on a star that you’ll be pixie-dusted with one of the refurbished studios. I stayed in one last month and absolutely loved all of the Mickey and friends touches throughout the room. The artwork on the Murphy bed stands out because you’ll see Goofy and Max enjoying the resort, from lounging at the pool to sleeping in their beds with Crescent Lake outside the window!
There’s so much to do at BoardWalk Villas without even stepping into the parks! During a resort day, my family loves to walk to the nearby
Fantasia Gardens mini golf or rent a
Surrey bike… just watch out, the boardwalk around Crescent Lake is hillier than it looks!
At night, it’s fun to watch the street performers on the boardwalk or pop into the magician-themed
AbracadaBar. If you’re a
Haunted Mansion fan like me, don’t miss the Pepper’s Ghost cocktail, named for the illusion behind the ride’s famous ballroom scene!
I hope you have a magical stay at the BoardWalk Villas this summer. You’re always welcome back at planDisney if you have any other questions!
