Hi Emily, welcome back to planDisney! I'm happy to help you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation with your group. With so many incredible Disney Resorts Collection hotels and Disney World events to choose from, you can’t go wrong!
For a group of your size, you'll want to look at resorts that comfortably accommodate five adults to be safe. Several resorts offer rooms designed for larger groups, such as Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, or Disney's Art of Animation. Or, consider booking a villa at one of the Deluxe Villa Resorts for even more space. You’ll have options like 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom suites at resorts like Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. These villas provide all the comforts of home (a full kitchen, living area, multiple bathrooms, etc.), making them perfect for larger groups who want both space and amenities. If you want to go all out, you could even book a Bungalow that sits above the water of Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows or a Treehouse Villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
When it comes to choosing the best time to visit, there's always something happening at Disney World, but planning around the EPCOT festivals may be your best bet. Here’s a quick overview of what you can experience throughout the year:
- EPCOT International Festival of the Arts (January to February): A visual, culinary, and performing arts celebration. You can enjoy everything from beautiful art displays and creative culinary offerings to live performances and interactive workshops.
- EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival (March to July): This festival is perfect for garden enthusiasts and foodies. It features stunning topiaries, garden displays, and outdoor kitchens offering fresh, delicious bites. My planDisney friend Jenn and I just made a video about this that I will link to your answer!
- EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival (late July to mid-November): A must-do for foodies and wine lovers! Enjoy foods from around the globe with over 30 global marketplaces, enjoy culinary demonstrations, and dance to live music at the Eat to the Beat Concert Series.
- EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays (late November to December): This festival Celebrates seasonal traditions from around the world, offers festive food offerings, and is inspired by the Candlelight Processional, a retelling of the Christmas story with a celebrity narrator and a choir.
Emily, if I were to plan an adults-only visit to Disney World, I would try to stay in one of the monorail resorts. These resorts offer easy access to Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT and are perfect for an adults-only monorail resort crawl. You can hop on the monorail and explore the fabulous bars and restaurants at each resort, like Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at the Polynesian Resort, Enchanted Rose at the Grand Floridian Resort, and the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction, Emily. After you do some more research, if you would like me to dive deeper into a resort or two or make additional bar and restaurant recommendations, let me know. I’d be happy to help!
See you real soon,
Brent
