Hi! My family will stay at the Boardwalk Villas 1-BR (resort view) at the beginning of May. Will these rooms still be under refurbishment at this time? Thanks!

Hey there, hi there, Jennifer! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. You're as welcome as can be!

I could not be more excited for you, Jennifer. Your magical vacation is just around the riverbend, and you couldn't have chosen a better Resort! With its lively vibes, oh-so-fun pool waterslide, incredible nearby dining options and location within walking distance of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, Disney's BoardWalk Villas is the perfect setting for a pixie-dusted adventure. Plus, with a full kitchen, dining area, living room, and washer and dryer right in your One Bedroom Villa, it will feel just like a magical home away from home.

I spoke with a Cast Member who informed me that no official completion date for the BoardWalk Villas refurbishment has been announced yet. However, she did share that starting this month, the merchandise location at the Resort will begin a phased renovation so that Guests will still be able to shop to their heart's content. The great news is that this refurbishment should be completed in May 2025.

While the completion of the room refurbishment is not official, I have a very good feeling that the rooms will be completed by the time you arrive, if they are not already. When my family and I stayed in a BoardWalk View Deluxe Studio in early June 2024, we had a beautiful, refurbished room, and the construction workers were just putting the finishing touches on the exterior paint. When I stayed in a BoardWalk View Studio again in November 2024, the rooms were renovated, the exterior was complete, and I saw no sign of nearby construction. On that November trip, my fellow planDisney pals stayed in a Resort View One Bedroom Villa and also had a refurbished room. I'll be wishing on a star that you get one, too!

One way I like to check on the completion of Resort refurbishments is to use the photos of the rooms on the Walt Disney World website as a clue. Just head to the BoardWalk Villas page on the website and click the "Room Rates" tab. Here, you will see photos of the rooms, and currently, the photos of the older rooms are still posted. In my experience, once you see that the photos of the new, gorgeous rooms have been posted, you can bet that every Villa in the Resort is complete. Happy site stalking, I mean, planning!

Jennifer, there are so many new and exciting dining options for you to enjoy on the BoardWalk! Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is now open, and my planDisney pals and I watched in awe as they made our food fresh, right before our eyes. Yum! The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant is also now open and has quickly become one of my favorite places to grab a cocktail and enjoy a practically perfect meal. The atmosphere, food, cocktails and cake are stunning, and I recommend making a reservation here 60 days before your arrival. The Ham, Rosemary and Goat Cheese Quiche was smooth, creamy and to die for. Enjoy!

I hope this helps, Jennifer, and I hope you'll stop by any time with any planning questions you may have. Have a magical and memorable vacation!

    Blue skies and sunshine,

    Mandy
