I use a wheelchair Are buses to parks able to accommodate it

Welcome to planDisney, David! It looks like your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is just around the river bend; I'm sure you're excitedly planning your park days, Mickey-shaped snacks, and logistics for using Disney Resort transportation to get you to all of your destinations! Let's talk about all the ways you can easily access the magic of transportation while using a wheelchair!

David, you'll be happy to know that all bus routes are serviced by buses that can accommodate mobility devices such as wheelchairs and ECVs. You'll be able to access the rear entrance of the bus using a ramp before regular boarding begins and the bus drivers will be able to help you navigate boarding and secure your wheelchair once on board. Both of my parents visit the parks frequently using ECVs and the drivers have always been patient, friendly, and helpful in getting them from point A to point B.

In addition to the buses, your wheelchair can also access other transportation options including the Disney Skyliner and Disney Monorail if you're visiting destinations that utilize those options! One final option for accessible resort transportation is the Minnie Van Service powered by the Lyft app; while this rideshare service does require passengers to pay an additional fee, they do offer accessible van options and can transport you anywhere within Disney property quickly and easily.

David, I think you'll find the magic to be inclusive and accessible for everything from transportation to attractions and experiences; check out the online mobility guide to see all the ways Disney offers options for guests using mobility devices. I'd also love to share with you that my panelist pal Kami is a wheelchair user and has frequent experience navigating the parks on wheels, so she's a great resource to reach out to if you have any other specific questions about mobility!

I'm wishing you a magical vacation filled with lots of memories, David!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
