Are the buses and boat from Disney's port Orleans Riverside wheel chair friendly?

Hey there, Alyson! I'm happy to welcome you to planDisney!

It sounds like you're gearing up for an incredible and truly unforgettable adventure to The Most Magical Place on Earth! It won't be long until you're whisked away to the charming and picturesque setting of Port Orleans Riverside. This resort beautifully captures the serene essence of the Louisiana bayou.

Alyson, as a wheelchair user myself, I completely understand the importance of accessible transportation, and I've got you covered with all the details you need. You'll be glad to know that Disney World is exceptionally mobility-friendly, one of the many reasons I return again and again. All Disney transportation options, including buses and water taxis, are designed to accommodate wheelchairs with ease, ensuring a smooth and convenient experience throughout your visit.

All methods of Disney transportation are equipped to allow wheelchairs to be loaded directly onto the vehicle. Guests also have the option to remain in their wheelchair throughout the ride if they prefer.

As a Guest staying at Port Orleans Riverside, you'll get to take advantage of the convenience of the Sassagoula River Cruise. This relaxing boat ride takes a scenic journey directly to Disney Springs. When it's time to visit the theme parks, you'll have access to complimentary bus transportation.

Before your visit, be sure to download the My Disney Experience app, which provides easy access to a variety of accessibility services. Here's how to find the features within the app:

    • On the Home Screen, tap the three-bar menu icon at the bottom of your screen that looks like this "☰."
    • Scroll down and select "Accessibility and Health Services."
    • Continue scrolling until you see the section labeled "Guest Services at Walt Disney World Resort."
    • From there, choose "Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities."
This screen will act as your central hub for all your accessibility resources and services during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Alyson, I hope this information has been helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please reach out again!

    Magic awaits,

    Kami
