Hey there, Michaela, and welcome back to planDisney!
Staying at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and visiting
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to grab a drink at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto sounds like an excellent plan. A couple of
Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rums will have more than just the birds singing words and the flowers crooning. I know the transportation changes have Guests feeling a bit adrift, but I'm happy to help clear things up.
I'm pleased to share that you can still visit that other resort on Bay Lake during your vacation. The adjustment to bus transportation rules shouldn't affect you much during your stay, if at all. The new transportation changes are primarily directed toward Guests traveling from
Disney Springs to
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Folks moving from that prime shopping and dining destination will need to have either an Advanced Dining Reservation or a room reservation to board a bus from there. In your situation, you could just take a bus or boat to Magic Kingdom and then take the Monorail or boat over to your tropical hideaway.
Michaela, have a ball(and a few good cocktails) during your magical vacation. If you have any other questions,
come back to see me!
Happy planning!
Taylor
