Splish-splash, Dylon, and welcome to planDisney where we love a good float on the
Castaway Creek lazy river! You'll arrive in the glorious Florida summer, so I think your plan to visit
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is excellent. Shade is important, so let's look at your options to stay cool while you're here.
You must keep up with the latest Disney Parks news because the semi-shaded loungers are still in testing! I chatted with a sunscreen-wearing Cast Member who didn't have much information to share since the process is evolving, but I do have
some tips and suggestions to help you secure one of these new seating options.
Keep in mind that this information is subject to change at any time, and the loungers might not be available when you visit. But here's what my sleuthing uncovered. Guests who book the original
Typhoon Lagoon Umbrellas setup can currently upgrade to the semi-shaded loungers in person at the park entrance. When you enter the park, head right and look for stands staffed by Cast Members.
If a semi-shaded lounge set is available, you can request an upgrade for an additional charge. I don't know the exact amount because the Cast Member said pricing is part of the trial phase. You can ask about price and availability there, and I'm wishing on a starfish that you can try out this fabulous new setup.
It looks like the configuration consists of two padded loungers, an adjustable shade, a lockbox, and two additional beach chairs with an umbrella. Keep in mind that food and drinks are not included in the up-charge, but you should have a dedicated Cast Member who can grab mobile orders and more for you. I think it sounds like a true VIP experience!
My final tip is to ask for loungers in the front row of the section. These are closest to the
Surf Pool, and who doesn't love a water view?
Dylon, thanks again for this great question and for staying up with the latest theme park news. Swim on back to
planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
