My family will be visiting Typhoon Lagoon this July. I saw on TikTok a new seating option, a semi-shaded lounger. How do I rent one? I do not see an option online.

Welcome to planDisney, Domonique! Your summertime visit is a backstroke away, so let's look at how you can have fun in the sun (and shade!) at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

The new semi-shaded loungers are a brand-new option at Typhoon Lagoon, so the process is still in the trial stage and could change. I chatted with a friendly Cast Member who had to do some research herself since this option is so new!

She found out that guests who book Typhoon Lagoon Umbrellas can currently upgrade to the loungers in person at the water park entrance. Just head to the right after you scan in and look for the manned stands.

She added that only a few upgrades are available each day, so my tip is to arrive at opening if the upgrade is important for your party. And keep in mind that the option might not be available during your trip since it's still in the testing phase.

The loungers include two padded lounge chairs, an adjustable folding shade, and a locker. As of now, you can order a limited selection of snacks and beverages or place a mobile order from Leaning Palms. A dedicated Cast Member will fetch your food, but remember that no drinks or food are included.

The current chair-and-umbrella setup includes two regular lounge chairs, two beach chairs, an umbrella, and a table. I recommend booking the regular umbrella now since you're in your 60-day booking window. Try to upgrade once you arrive, and if you can't, you'll still have a fabulous area to relax and enjoy the day!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a day at Typhoon Lagoon, and our favorite attraction was Miss Adventure Falls. This relaxing family-style raft ride was a fun way to cool off! We also loved the Surf Pool, so be sure to check the Surf Report signage for the daily schedule.

Domonique, I hope you dive into adventure on your upcoming vacation. Thanks again for stopping by and allowing planDisney to help. Cannonball!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
