Hello, I am trying to modify my booking for my family. The dates that are available for my children are not available for me and my husband. How can I change that? I am not wanting to cancel the booking but change it to a different date.

Welcome to planDisney, Sumaiya! Planning a family visit to the Disneyland Resort is so exciting, and I completely understand wanting to keep everyone's plans together. When reservation availability doesn't line up for everyone, it can certainly make planning feel a bit more complicated. I'm happy to help explain what may be happening and point you toward the best next step.

One of the most common reasons for seeing different reservation availability within the same party is that guests are using different admission types. For example, if you and your husband have Magic Keys while your children have standard theme park tickets, the reservation calendars may not match. Each Magic Key has its own blockout calendar, while standard theme park tickets use a separate reservation availability calendar. Because of this, it's possible for reservations to be available for one ticket type but unavailable for another on the very same day.

If you are using a Magic Key and the date you'd like to visit is blocked out for your pass level, you could still visit by purchasing a separate theme park ticket for that date. If everyone in your family has the same type of admission, however, and reservations appear to be available for your children but not for you and your husband, there may be another issue with the reservation itself that requires a closer look.

Before making any changes, I'd recommend checking the reservation availability calendar for your specific ticket type to confirm that the new date is currently available. Reservation availability can change as other Guests adjust their plans, so it's always worth checking back if your preferred date isn't available right away.

If after these steps you are still not able to get your family’s reservations together, my next recommendation would be to contact the Tickets Help line. A friendly Cast Member can review everyone’s reservation, confirm that all of your tickets are linked correctly, and determine whether there's anything preventing you from modifying your plans. They can also walk you through the available options so you can keep your family's vacation together.

I hope this helps, Sumaiya! With a little Disney magic and the assistance of a knowledgeable Cast Member, I hope you'll be able to adjust your reservation and continue counting down to your visit. If any other questions come up while you're planning your Disneyland Resort adventure, please stop by planDisney again. We're always happy to help.

Wishing you a smooth planning process and a visit filled with magical family memories!
