Kevin from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have a magic key pass and when I was making a reservation it showed only California adventure was available. Does that mean I can’t park hop to Disneyland park? I’d also like to know about the availability for park hopping.

Hi Kevin! Welcome to planDisney! As a fellow Magic Key Holder, I completely understand why you'd want clarification on the updated park hopping process. The good news is that seeing only Disney California Adventure Park available for your reservation does not mean you'll be limited to that park for the entire day.

With the current Disneyland Resort policy, your park reservation simply means that you will be visiting a Disney park that day. You'll be eligible to either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure whenever you'd like. There is no longer a designated park hopping start time, which gives Guests much more flexibility throughout the day.

For example, you could begin your day racing through Radiator Springs in Cars Land, enjoy breakfast at Flo’s V8 Cafe, and then make your way across the Esplanade to Disneyland to spend the rest of the morning exploring Adventureland, New Orleans Square, or Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. One of my favorite aspects of the updated policy is how easy it is to follow the vibe rather than watching the clock.

Regarding park hopping availability, Disneyland Resort currently allows Guests to move freely between the two parks all day. The only exception is if a park reaches capacity. In that case, park hopping into that park could be temporarily paused until capacity levels allow additional Guests to enter.

Kevin, I hope this helps clarify how reservations and park hopping work together. If you have any additional questions about your Magic Key benefits, park reservations, or planning your next Disneyland Resort adventure, please visit us again at planDisney. We'd be delighted to help!

May your next Disney day be filled with plenty of magical moments on both sides of the Esplanade!
