My son is traveling to Disney World on their honeymoon and is looking for something luxurious, but can't afford to stay at a hotel in that category, what hotel would you recommend and why?

Hiya, Maria! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us this question.

It sounds like congratulations are in order! What an exciting time for your family, and what better place to celebrate than Walt Disney World? It's going to be a shining, shimmering, splendid honeymoon filled with Disney magic. Not only can they experience all of the attractions and shows, but there are so many romantic dining options and enchanted extras that they can enjoy on their special trip.

When looking at the Walt Disney World Resort hotel options, I would recommend your son explore the moderate resort options. This includes Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans - Riverside, and Port Orleans - French Quarter. They all have amazing amenities, dining, and the beautiful decor that you would expect from the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Collection, but at a more budget-friendly price than some of the deluxe resorts.

Specifically, I would suggest looking at the Port Orleans resorts. At Port Orleans - French Quarter, the resort recreates the romantic lamp lit streets of historic New Orleans, complete with jazz, good food, and Mardi Gras fun. Then you have Port Orleans - Riverside and the Royal Guest Rooms, which are filled with luxurious and fun Disney details perfect for this occasion. The resort also offers horse-drawn carriage rides for rent along the serene banks of the Sassagoula River. And let’s be honest, it doesn’t get more romantic than a carriage ride!

I had the opportunity to stay at a Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans - Riverside on a kids-free trip to Walt Disney World with my wife, and we had a blast. While we didn’t take advantage of the carriage rides, we did walk down to Port Orleans - French Quarter for beignets, which is more in-line with our love language.

Maria, I hope this information helps your son choose a resort for their upcoming honeymoon. If you have any other questions, pop right back to planDisney and ask away! Our panelists are here to help!

    Magical travels,
