Hi Jodee! Welcome to planDisney! Staying at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa takes an already magical vacation to the next level. My wife and I have stayed there a few times, and it's one of those places we still find ourselves talking about long after we've returned home.
As you mentioned, work is currently underway on a
second club-level lounge at the hotel. At this time, Disney has only shared that it is expected to open sometime in 2026, but a more specific opening date has not yet been announced. I know it would be wonderful if it were ready for your September visit! I'm looking forward to seeing it myself because the details released so far sound incredible. The new space will continue the hotel's beautiful Californian Craftsman design with columns and arches inspired by the existing lobby architecture, wrought iron branching details, and handcrafted tile murals. For the latest updates on its opening, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog.
Even if the new lounge isn't quite ready for your visit, you'll still be able to enjoy The Veranda, where club-level Guests can relax with delicious refreshments and the exceptional service that makes staying at the Grand Californian feel so special.
Since you'll be staying at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you'll also enjoy some wonderful conveniences during your visit. One of my favorites is the private entrance into Disney California Adventure Park. It's a peaceful way to begin the day and places you right in the heart of Grizzly Peak. Just remember that you'll need a valid theme park ticket and the appropriate park reservation for Disney California Adventure if entering before 11:00 a.m. (or a reservation for either park if entering after 11:00 a.m.). During especially busy times, such as regular park opening, or special events like Oogie Boogie Bash, access through this entrance may be temporarily limited to hotel Guests.
Here's a Q-Tip I'd keep in my back pocket: you don't need a room key or theme park ticket to use the Grand Californian's separate entrance into the Downtown Disney District. It's a fantastic option if you'd like to enjoy a meal, do a little shopping, or simply take a leisurely stroll while staying close to the magic.
Jodee, I hope this helps as you count down to your September visit. If any other questions come up while you're planning, please stop by planDisney again. We'd be delighted to help you make the most of every magical moment.
May you have a truly magical vacation!
