Bright Suns, Eden, and welcome to planDisney! My friends and I built droids together when
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opened, and it’s one of my favorite Disney core memories. We brought them everywhere on that trip, from the lounge chairs by the pool to the
PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom. So let’s chat about your adventure to Batuu!
Both the
Droid Depot and
Savi’s Workshop experiences are limited to the builder and one guest who wants to watch, so all three of you can’t be inside unless you have at least two builder spots reserved. At Droid Depot, there’s a gift shop attached to the workshop where you can look into the droid-making area. So the third person in your crew could hang out there while Person A creates their droid. It’s a pretty quick process that takes about 15-20 minutes. In fact, my advice is to take your time choosing parts at the conveyor belt because once you get to the assembly stage, the rest goes pretty quickly!
While Person B makes their lightsaber, the third person can head over to
Kat Saka’s Kettle for a snack or go channel their inner Boba Fett by playing
Batuu Bounty Hunters (they’ll need a
MagicBand+ and the
Play Disney Parks app)! Savi’s Workshop takes about 30-40 minutes, including check-in, so they won’t have to wait too long.
Once everyone is done building their new creations, don’t forget to get lots of pictures! You’ll find
PhotoPass photographers throughout Batuu, and be sure to get both daytime and nighttime pictures. The glowing lightsabers look epic at night!
During the day, I love the Super Zoom Magic Shot near
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. And at night, you can usually find a PhotoPass photographer in the Millennium Falcon area. They usually have lightsabers you can borrow, so Person B and C can join in on the fun!
Also, if you’d like more time with a PhotoPass photographer, you can book a 20-minute
Capture Your Moment session. I’ve had friends do these sessions and they’ve gotten so many amazing pictures!
Safe journey to Batuu, and I hope that your crew has an amazing time exploring the planet! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
