Hi Hazel!
Welcome to
planDisney!
Rider Switch can be used with Lightning Lane Single Passes, but it’s good to note that everyone riding will need a
Lightning Lane Single Pass if everyone wants to go through the Lightning Lane. So in this case, you will need to purchase 5 Lightning Lane Single Passes (pending availability). Here’s how it will work:
Let the Cast Member at the entrance to the Lightning Lane know you’d like to use Rider Switch, and they’ll get you all set up!
Your party will split up into two groups. The first group will go through the Lightning Lane with their Lightning Lane Single Pass while the second group waits with the little one who’s not riding.
Once they’re done riding, group 1 will wait while group 2 goes through the Lightning Lane with their Lightning Lane Single Pass. Something I love about Rider Switch is that if group 2 only has one person, someone in your party may re-ride with them. That way, no one has to ride alone!
Of course, if you get to the ride early enough within your return time for the ride, you may not need to use Rider Switch at all. I tend to only use Rider Switch with Lightning Lanes if we’re concerned that we may not have time for both groups to make it through the ride before the end of the return time rolls around. I love having the option just in case, though.
I hope you have the best trip to
Disney World! Let us know if you have any other questions!
