The park hopper tickets say "California Adventure" on both. Do we have to start there first?

Greetings, Jaime, and welcome to planDisney! It's almost time for your magical visit to the Disneyland Resort! Let's make sure you're all set to have a smooth start to your day.

To enter a Disneyland Resort theme park, you need to have a valid ticket (which it sounds like you have), as well as a theme park reservation. With a theme park reservation and a Park Hopper ticket, you can now start at either California Adventure or Disneyland Park.

If you have a paper ticket, make sure it's linked to your MyDisney account, which you can do online or in the Disneyland mobile app. In the app, tap the icon at the bottom with the three lines (≡), and then tap the "My Tickets & Passes" box, then the blue icon with a plus sign at the top, and lastly the "Link Tickets & Passes" box.

With your ticket linked, you can view your upcoming reservations on the website or app. In the app, tap the icon at the bottom with the three lines (≡) and then tap "My Plans" to see your reservation details.

With a Park Hopper ticket, you can switch between parks on the same day, given that the park hasn't reached capacity or has closed for a special event. I have a Magic Key pass, which allows me to move between the parks similar to a Park Hopper ticket. I personally haven't encountered issues related to capacity – they're rare but more of a possibility during major holidays or events.

Aside from the added convenience of having your ticket available electronically, the Disneyland mobile app has other convenient features. I use it to mobile order food earlier in the day, which helps avoid long lines at mealtime. It's also super handy when checking attraction wait times, seeing when Characters are meeting with Guests, and figuring out when to catch the various entertainment offerings. If you plan to use the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you'll also need it to select and redeem your attraction arrival windows.

Jaime, I hope you have an amazing time visiting the Disneyland Resort. If you have any questions while at the park, stop by one of the Guest Relations locations to speak with a Cast Member. Of course, you can also come back to planDisney – we're happy to help!
