Hello Keith, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! As a fellow Keystone State
Disney Vacation Club Member, I personally understand wanting to book a quick getaway close to home. So, let’s talk through booking a Hotel Exchange using your Vacation Points!
While DVC does not maintain a list of the hotels participating in Interval International’s Hotel Exchange, you can search for available hotels through the Interval International website. In order to do so, you’ll need to log in to the DVC website and visit
the World Collection page. From there, scroll to the bottom of the page for Hotel Exchanges and click on the link that reads “Search or book now!”. I was able to visit the site and do a quick search for a two-night stay for two adults on your selected check-in date and saw many available hotels to book!
Here’s some important tidbits regarding Hotel Exchanges. You need to exchange a minimum of 20 Vacation Points for a stay. In addition, the
Rule of Four applies to Hotel Exchanges, meaning that bookings in your current Use Year need to be made prior to the last four months of that Use Year. A transaction fee generally applies to these types of exchanges and individual hotels may also charge additional fees. I suggest reading the section on
the DVC website entitled “Hotel Exchange: Know Before You Book” for additional details. If you’re enrolled in the optional
Membership Magic Beyond program, one of the benefits waives transaction fees for Vacation Point exchanges!
Keith, I hope this gives you insight into using your Vacation Points towards a hotel exchange and wishing you the best of luck in searching for that perfect getaway option! If you have any further questions on getting the most out of your DVC membership, feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
