Hi Colton, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! A
Disney Vacation Club membership opens up a world of possibilities. You’re not just limited to the DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and the select beach destinations. You can use them quite literally anywhere! Now, let’s talk through how to use your
Vacation Points.
In order to use your Vacation Points towards a DVC Resort stay, you have two main options. First and foremost, you can book a DVC villa directly through
the DVC website. In order to do so, you’ll have to log in with your account credentials. From there, you can follow the prompts regarding desired Resorts, room type, and travel dates, and the website will display any Resorts that meet your search criteria. Once you fill in the information of your travel party, you’ll be all set. Don’t see any Resorts that meet your criteria or hoping for a particular DVC Resort for you stay? Don’t fret! You can create a waitlist and DVC will automatically complete your booking on your behalf should a villa become available for your stay. Alternatively, you can also
contact Member Services in order to search and complete a booking at a DVC Resort.
As I said before, you’re not limited to just the DVC Resorts. You can use your Vacation Points towards select overseas theme parks, such as Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland! In addition, you can exchange your Vacation Points towards a Disney Cruise or an Adventures by Disney excursion! This is known as the
Disney Collection and these types of exchanges require
a call to Member Services to complete the booking. You can scroll to the bottom of this page for the various
point charts for resorts in the Disney Collection. In addition, here's a
handy link to point charts for Disney cruises and Adventure by Disney excursions. There is generally a transaction fee for these types of exchanges and you must be eligible for Membership extras in order to exchange Vacation Points towards the Disney Collection. But that’s not all! You can also deposit your Vacation Points in Interval International for an even greater network of resorts around the world. DVC provides a helpful guide
here on how exchanges into Interval International work.
Colton, I hope this gives you all the information you need to use your Vacation Points! If you have any further questions on making the most of your DVC membership, feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
