Hiw do we go about replacing the battery packs if we do not live near a Disney park where savi's shop is?

Hello there, Eileen! Welcome to planDisney! As a fellow Savi’s Workshop builder, I completely understand that moment when your lightsaber suddenly goes quiet mid–“training session”. Let’s get you powered back up and ready to channel the Force again.

Replacing the batteries in your lightsaber is something you can absolutely do from home, no trip to Batuu required. To start, unscrew the end cap at the bottom of your hilt by turning it counterclockwise. This will reveal the black battery pack inside. Gently push in on the pack and twist it counterclockwise to release it, then slide it out.

Once you have the battery pack removed, you’ll need a small screwdriver to open the side panel. Inside, you’ll find three AAA batteries. Swap those out, then reassemble everything by following the same steps in reverse (panel back on, battery pack inserted and twisted into place, and end cap secured). With fresh batteries installed, your lightsaber should ignite once again!

A quick tip from one builder to another: if your saber ever starts flickering or the sound becomes inconsistent, that’s usually your first sign the batteries are running low (kind of like a kyber crystal losing its focus). Keeping a spare set of AAA batteries nearby can save the day faster than calling in backup from the Resistance.

If you ever do make your way back to Batuu, be sure to take your fully powered lightsaber for a spin near the Millennium Falcon or along the pathways of Black Spire Outpost at night. There’s nothing quite like seeing that glow cut through the darkness. It’s the kind of moment that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into your own Star Wars story.

I hope this helps you get your lightsaber back in action, Eileen. If any other questions come up on your journey, we at planDisney are always here to help guide you.

May the Force be with you, always.
