Hi Kristin!
There is nothing more magical than starting a cruise vacation off with a few days at Disney World. You get to enjoy the rush of the theme parks and relax on the cruise afterward.
When I only have a few days at Disney World my goal is always to maximize my time there and pick the most efficient resort hotel from a travel and convenience perspective. Since you are planning on going to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, I highly recommend staying at one of the resorts located on the monorail line. These resorts are the
Polynesian Village Resort,
Grand Floridian Resort, and the
Contemporary Resort. I have stayed at each of these resorts and love everything about them. The great part about all three of these hotels is that each morning you just hop on the monorail and it takes you right to the entrance of EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. The monorail runs continuously so it is super quick and convenient.
My favorite resort to stay in with little kids is the Polynesian Resort. The theming is so much fun, the food options are delicious, and you can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach of the hotel every night! The themed pool is also one of the best pools in all of Disney World. If you are getting up and headed out early each morning there is a fabulous coffee stop called
Kona Island right on your way out the door to the monorail that has what I would argue is the best caramel macchiato in the world. I don't know if it is the flavor or the fact that you drink it while riding the monorail straight to Magic Kingdom.
If you have more questions don't hesitate to come back and ask them. We are here to help and excited for your theme parks and cruise adventure!
Happy Planning
Jenna
