After new year's at the disney boardwalk, is there a shuttle to take us back to disney springs? Is it a problem to leave the car at disney springs even after closing time? Until what time is the parking lot open?

¡Hola, Maria Paula! Bienvenida a planDisney; it's always so nice to welcome our international guests coming from all over the world to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

When it comes to celebrating the New Year in Disney style, I always like to remind folks choosing this time of year to visit that the holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort has always been the most popular in my experience, with so many more crowds of excited revelers everywhere you look. I think that having a great transportation strategy is so important when it comes to getting back safely from any nighttime celebrations, especially if anyone's enjoying alcoholic beverages throughout the evening!

    • It sounds like you're deciding to park your vehicle at Disney Springs in order to celebrate around Disney's BoardWalk, which is in my opinion just a little less busy than it can be to experience New Year's Eve within the theme parks - and you still get the opportunity to glimpse the fireworks high above from the right spot! A lot of local Floridians and out-of-town guests alike choose to park at Disney Springs and in my experience, the parking structures often become full before noon. I checked with a Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney Springs who let me know that while any vehicle left well after closing time or overnight is subject to consequences like being towed, they often remain open about an hour after posted closing hours. Though they could not currently confirm until what exact time the parking will remain open, they suggested that you confirm on the day after you've successfully parked so that you can plan ahead to return on time.
    • EPCOT is currently scheduled to close at midnight on December 31st; as the Cast Members encourage guests to be on their way to the exit, the complimentary Resort Bus Transportation available to guests at Disney's BoardWalk resort area tends to become very busy quite quickly soon after. (Once the fireworks have finished, it might be a good idea to already begin heading over to Disney Springs just to avoid the rush; I've also observed that a lot of guests end up choosing to schedule rides instead of waiting in the typically longer lines for transportation but this does also tend to be more expensive with surge pricing on New Year's Eve.)

It's a good idea to pack an extra bit of patience and flexibility into your New Year's Eve plans, and always have a backup in place just in case - another thing to be aware of is that lines for restrooms are often the most frequently experienced wait for a lot of folks that night, so scope out different locations in advance just to avoid missing any transportation as a result of any unexpected delays. We hope to see you at planDisney again soon for any other questions you have before the holidays!

Wishing you the very best New Year's Eve as you start 2024 in style!
