Happy holidays, Cheryl! Thanks for stopping by planDisney. You might already be at the Most Magical Place on Earth, so I ho-ho-hope you're having a festive visit.
While the
official holiday kickoff is listed on the website as November 12, I saw plenty of cheer and tinsel when I recently arrived on November 6. I guess those elves were anxious to get the party started! Some offerings, such as the
Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll, will end on December 30, but in years past, the Christmas decorations in the parks typically stay up a few days into January.
During my trip, I enjoyed the holiday decor at the theme parks and many resort hotels. If you're there now, you've probably seen the ginormous Christmas trees at Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Those are two of my favorite backdrops for getting into the season.
I recommend visiting Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see the iconic
Gingerbread House in the lobby. This year, it opened to the public on November 6. This annual tradition is celebrating 25 years of yummy holiday fun. If I close my eyes, I can still smell the ginger in the air.
One surprise for me was Mickey's Christmas Carol Gingerbread Carousel at
Disney's Beach Club Resort. This spinning beauty is themed around the Charles Dickens tale and features horses honoring Scrooge McDuck, Jiminy Cricket, and more. It's a Christmas beauty!
I'm sorry if I couldn't answer your question before your visit, Cheryl. I hope you enjoyed some holiday sights and sounds during this most wonderful time of the year. Please
stop by planDisney anytime; I'll have some eggnog waiting!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
