If my check in date is August 18 at Animal Kingdom Lodge would August 11th be the first day I can purchase lightening lanes or August 12 ?

Hiya, Ryan, and welcome to planDisney! I bet you're in countdown mode for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation...I know I would be! You're planning to try the new Lightning Lane pass system, so let's look at how the booking window will work.

I chatted with a helpful Cast Member who said you should be eligible to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass as early as August 11 at 7:00 AM if your check-in date is August 18. You might be able to buy it now, Ryan! If you are unable to purchase, be sure you're logged into the Disney Account that your Disney Resort hotel reservation is linked to, and feel free to call Website Support for help.

One way to remember how to count seven days is to look at the day of the week you'll check in on. If it's a Sunday, you'll be eligible to purchase Lightning Lane passes the Sunday before.

You can purchase Lightning Lane Passes for the length of your stay up to 14 days. This is a fabulous perk for planners like us, Ryan! With the Multi Pass purchase, you can choose your first three attractions for each day of your visit; additionally, you can purchase up to two Single Passes per day.

I plan to try the new system in a few weeks. My top choices will be Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park and Slinky Dog Dash at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Those are two of the most popular attractions, so I must have quick hands. Wish me luck!

Ryan, I hope your visit is full of lightning-fast queues and magical memories. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
