I would like to bring my 18-month-old baby on a Disney Cruise. She does not eat salt and sugar. How do I inform Disney Cruise and plan for this?

    Hi there, Vivian!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Taking a little one on a Disney Cruise is pure magic! I still remember my kids’ first voyage...they were absolutely captivated from the moment we stepped aboard!

As a fellow parent navigating food allergies, I completely understand how important it is to have safe, familiar options when you travel. A great first step is to review the Special Dietary Requests page, which explains how Disney Cruise Line handles food restrictions.

Once your cruise is booked, you can fill out the Special Services form to share your baby’s dietary needs. I also like to call Disney Cruise Line as our sail date gets closer to double‑check that everything is noted correctly. If your little one needs specific brands or items that aren’t typically stocked onboard (such as butter for my family), you may be able to request them. They can’t guarantee availability, but in my experience, they do their very best to make sure your family is taken care of.

On embarkation day, keep an eye on the Navigator app for the time of the Onboard Dining Session. I always stop by to review our family’s needs and map out meals for the first day. At dinner that evening, also remind your servers about your child’s restrictions. Additionally, I like to pre‑order allergy‑friendly meals at the end of dinner for the next day, as it gives us peace of mind and helps the crew know what food to prepare.

Just keep in mind that while Disney Cruise Line goes above and beyond to accommodate dietary restrictions in my experience, they don’t have separate allergy‑friendly kitchens, and they can't guarantee that meals will be free from cross-contamination. Every family’s comfort level is different. For us, we’ve safely sailed many times, and we’re already counting down to our next adventure!

Vivian, I hope you discover the perfect Disney Cruise for your family. Don't hesitate to contact planDisney again if you have more questions.

    Happy sailing!
