Hi there! If I have booked a room with a Disney Resort and paid for theme park tickets through the Disney website do I then need to reserve the theme park days that we plan on going before we arrive? Thanks!

Hey Howdy Hey Julie and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you so much for stopping by with your question about Theme Park Reservations. It sounds like your Magical vacation is quickly approaching. Let's get you some answers so you can get back to the fun of planning!

Earlier this year, Disney announced that Guests purchasing date-based theme park tickets no longer need reservations to get into the parks. These tickets are the most common options purchased through the Disney site. Typically, you will have to pick a date you want your tickets to start their validation period. Depending on the number of days purchased, this determines the full validation period. These are also the tickets that do not need reservations!

One super easy way to check is to go online and try to make reservations if you are unsure. As you walk through the steps, you will need to enter your My Disney Experience account info to log in. The system will check the tickets you have linked and will notify you if anyone in your party may need reservations. This will also inform you of all the members that do not need them as well!

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you can rest assured now that you know if you need reservations or not. Please feel free to stop back if you have any other questions. We are always happy to help!
