Hey Lori! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to hear about your upcoming magical trip to
Disney World! December is such a special time to visit with all the beautiful holiday decorations, festive cheer, and wonderful smells and sounds all around. There are tons of special activities and events that will make your family's visit truly unforgettable, and I will be happy to help you today.
I'm really sorry to hear that your preferred date is already booked. It's so common for this to happen in December at Magic Kingdom, especially during the week right after Thanksgiving, since many Guests extend their stays to enjoy the parks even more. But don't lose heart! While it might be unlikely for new spots to open up, plans do change often, and Guests do adjust or cancel their reservations. So, my best piece of advice is to keep an eye on the
theme park reservations page right up until the last minute!
I've had great luck with this strategy before, whether it's for park reservations or dining spots. As you get closer to your travel dates—about five to three days out—be sure to check several times a day. People make changes during that time, and you just never know what might open up. Setting an alarm on your phone to remind you to check the website can be super helpful. There's no definite way to know when spots will become available, but it's definitely worth a shot.
I really hope this helps, Lori! I'll wish on a star that your dates open up soon so you can have the most fabulous time and create memories that will last a lifetime. If you have any more questions, please
come back anytime and let us know. It's always a pleasure to help out our awesome friends like you!
Cheers,
Nilson
