We own 2 homes, 1 in Iowa & 1 in Florida. Our photo ID shows our Iowa address, but I do have proof of ownership of our home in Florida as well. Would we qualify as a Florida resident? We do pay utilities, property taxes, etc.. in Florida

Hey Howdy Hey Elaine and welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you have the best of both worlds. A nice place to spend time during the hot summer months in Florida and a nice retreat in the winter to get away from the cold and snow. Any other time in between can be a toss-up! Thank you for your question on specifics with Florida Resident status. Let's go over the qualifications so you can purchase tickets accordingly.

You are right Elaine, Disney does have a policy and requirements to demonstrate proof of Florida residency when purchasing tickets and accessing offers that residents may qualify for. Although the easiest form typically is a driver's license, this is not the only one. You can check the list of various forms that qualify for proof of residency, but it sounds like if you pay utilities, this bill can be enough to get you in! Make sure when you go to present this bill, it is dated no more than 2 months before the date of your purchase so it qualifies.

Another really cool option when purchasing theme park tickets is doing everything online. Either through the My Disney Experience app or online, you can select the option to digitally verify your proof of residency. As long as you upload the qualifying documents, Disney will be able to verify your residency and then you can head straight to the parks. You can skip this digital verification if you want to, this will require a stop at a ticket window to verify your residency before the tickets become active.

I hope you can enjoy the perks of living in Florida with a discount on so many options available for Florida Residents. If you have any other questions, please feel free to let us know, we are always happy to help!
