Ahoy there, Chandra!
Welcome Home and welcome aboard! Thank you for sailing by planDisney with your question. Chandra, how exciting that you are thinking of heading into the unknown on a magical
Disney Cruise Line cruise. Our family has done this several times, and it is such a wonderful way to explore dazzling places we never knew with the magic of Disney.
Chandra, as Disney Vacation Club Members, we sure do enjoy many perks and benefits of Membership. While eligible Members receive some
discounts while onboard a Disney Cruise, and some welcome home gifts, unfortunately, we do not receive a discount on the price of the cruise itself.
You can use your Disney Vacation Club Points to book your cruise, provided your Membership isn't restricted. And, one option that our family used to help reduce our costs is a
combination of Vacation Points and cash. To do this, you can contact
Member Services who can help you. One thing to note about this option is that at least one person in the traveling party must be paid for using only Vacation Points—and other members of the traveling party can be paid for using cash. You just can't split one Guest's cost using some Vacation Points and some cash.
Another tip, Chandra, is to check out the
Special Offers page on the Disney Cruise Line website if you do not have Vacation Points to use towards a cruise. There are often select sailings offered at a discount. This is another great way to maximize the magic of your vacation.
I hope this helps you, Chandra! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, sail back here to see me. I'll be happy to lend you some fin!
Bon Voyage,
Keri
