Best Way to Plan Meals-Dinner Reservations w/ a Group of 6(2kids under 10) in mind? 4 park days, Staying in Art of Animation-Cars Family Suite. we will Also do Grocery orders for snacks. Choices are overwhelming & IDK how Adv. reservations work lol

    Ma chère Cassidy,

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you to planDisney.  And now, I invite you to relax, pull up a chair as I proudly present - your dining options!  How exciting that you are dreaming about your upcoming stay. For me, Disney dining is all part of the Disney experience, and it can be just as magical as visiting the parks.

Cassidy, our family typically plans one or two sit-down meals a day, and we like to do quick service for the other meals. If we are heading into the parks, we will do quick service on those mornings so that we can take advantage of Early Theme Park entry, and plan for a sit down for lunch or dinner.  On our off-park days, it's a good time to do a Character Breakfast and a thematic dinner at one of the Resorts, with a quick service lunch at the pool or Disney Waterpark. There are so many delicious and thematic dining options at both the theme parks and the Resorts, as well as at Disney Springs, so I would recommend a combination.

Since you will be in a family suite at Art of Animation, you will have a kitchenette. In these cases, we also pick up a few breakfast items to have cereal, yogurt, coffee, and juice in our room. It's a great way to save some pixie dust in your wallet and head out on our day.

Now, as a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you have the option to make Dining Reservations beginning 60 days out from your check-in date for the entirety of your stay.  I would mark that date in your calendar and make your booking then as early in the day as possible to maximize your options.

Which dining locations you choose depends on your tastes and interests. But I have a few favorites:

    - Magic Kingdom Park - Be Our Guest Restaurant is one of my personal favorites for lunch or dinner.  It has a prix fixe menu, but the real treat is the decor which transports you to the Beast's Castle.  He does make an appearance during your meal to greet his Guests, so it is a great immersive experience for any Beauty and the Beast fan.

    - Disney's Hollywood Studios - Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a must-do for any Toy Story fan. This is a family-style barbecue meal set in Andy's playroom. Once in a while, Andy pops in and all the toys in the restaurant must freeze!  The food is delicious and all you care to eat - but the jar desserts are my favorite.

    - EPCOT - I have two favorites here. Space 220 is an out-of-this-world experience - both for the atmosphere and for the food.  If you want to do this one for lunch, you can get a lounge reservation - which seats you a little more on the outside ring of the restaurant and is more of an ala carte menu, rather than prix fixe menu which is the case in the dining area.  But you still get the same view. Otherwise, any of the World Showcase dining options are wonderful to explore cuisine from around the world.

    - Animal Kingdom - Tusker House Restaurant is my recommendation and you can do a character breakfast here.  They offer delicious food and an immersive atmosphere, and it's a great way to get your day off to a roaring start!

    - For the Disney Resort Hotels, I love Character Dining at Topolino's Terrace and Cape May Cafe. Ohana for dinner is a go-to for our family at Disney's Polynesian Resort or Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (though be warned - there is nothing quiet about it, especially if you ask for ketchup.) At Disney Springs, we love Enzo's Hideaway for dinner or Polite Pig for quick service.

I hope this helps you, Cassidy! If you have further questions, be our guest again and I'll be so happy to help you!

    Bon Appetit!
