Ahoy there, Nicole!
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are thinking of sailing off to the great wide somewhere on a Disney Cruise Line cruise using your
Disney Vacation Club Points. Nicole, I have done this several times and it is such a wonderful way to enjoy flexible, affordable family vacations to Disney and beyond!
Nicole, you can indeed use your Disney Vacation Club Points to pay for a Disney cruise, provided you have no
restrictions on your Membership. It's as easy as Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! Here's how to do that.
First, I recommend visiting the Disney Vacation Club website and going to the "Destinations" tab. Click on
"Disney Cruise Line" and then click the blue button that says
"View All Points Charts." From here, you can click on a sailing that interests you and check out the Vacation Points cost per person for the type of sailing and stateroom that interests you. Once you have found the sailing of your dreams and you are ready to book, Nicole, call
Member Services who can convert your Vacation Points into Reservation Points and make the Disney Cruise Line reservation for you.
Keep in mind, Nicole, that if you don't have enough Vacation Points to cover the entire cost of the cruise, you can use Banked or Borrowed Vacation Points. But, you can also do a combination of
cash and Reservation Points. The one thing to note is that at least one person must be paid in full by Reservation Points. You just can't split a Guest's cost with Reservation Points and cash. We did this for our trip last year and used Reservation Points to pay for one member of our party and paid cash for the rest.
I hope this helps you, Nicole. Remember, if the wind in your sail on the sea stays behind you, one day you'll know, just how far you'll go! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, sail back here to see us - we know the way to help you plan your magical Disney adventure!
Bon Voyage,
Keri
