Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Judi!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. Judi, like you, our family loves to take advantage of
Disney Resorts with home-away-from-home amenities, like Disney Vacation Club Resorts and family suites at the Value Resorts. It is a great way to maximize the magic with kitchens and kitchenettes, and of course, the gadgets and gizmos to make meal and snack planning easier!
Judi, when doing a split-stay, typically
Bell Services will only transfer groceries that are non-perishable and unopened and/or packed in a closed bag or a suitcase. They don't usually transfer perishable items, as many of the Resorts do not have the storage space or refrigeration to hold perishable groceries, nor can Bell Services be responsible for ensuring their temperature during storage or when transferred. As Florida weather is humid and often hot, perishable items can spoil quickly.
What our family has done is to purchase smaller size perishable items for each Resort stay so that we can eat through most of it before our next stay. The shops at
Disney Vacation Club Resorts and many of the Resorts' quick service restaurants often have smaller sizes or single-serving items for milk and yogurt, making it easier to purchase smaller quantities. You could also try transferring the items yourself if you have a well-packed and well-insulated cooler with very cold freezer packs. But in Florida's heat, I would opt for smaller size perishables for each stay just to be safe.
I hope this is helpful for you, Judi. If you have any more Disney vacation planning qjuestions, stop back here because you've got a friend in me.
Magically Yours,
Keri
