Lynn,
You will love the
Yak & Yeti Restaurant at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I can be found enjoying the Bhaktapur Duck on my visits, whenever I can!
The Disney Dining Plans have not returned, but certainly the wonderful restaurants found around Walt Disney World are still bringing great food to the table. Walking in to one of these venues is still an option, but I would strongly recommend getting a reservation, if possible, to ensure you get to enjoy your preferred destination. Most of the table service restaurants in the parks were experiencing pretty high levels of bookings on our recent visit, so getting in by relying on just walking up without a reservation can mean waiting a long time, or possibly not getting in at all.
BONUS TIPI just looked on the
My Disney Experience App for a table reservation for 2 for either lunch or dinner on May 6th, and came up empty. That does not mean that you cannot walk up and wait for a table but be prepared to wait. A little added suggestion for you, if your party is small enough, if to see if they have seats at the bar. That is how I got in the last time I ate there, when I did not have a reservation. Of course, keep checking for reservations as well, since people will cancel reservations as their vacation date nears and their plans change.
BONUS TIP #2
If you can't get in to the restaurant in a reasonable time, know that there is the
Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes nearby, for a walk-up access to some great options as well.
