Can my 11 year old have the Disney experience app and receive her own photos on her phone. We’ve tried making an account and it won’t let us

Hi Amanda, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney. I’m excited to see that you’ll be walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and eating all the Mickey-shaped snacks in just a few more days! So let’s chat about how to get your daughter access to those fun PhotoPass pictures.

I believe the reason you’re unable to create an account for your daughter is that guests must be at least 13 years old to create a MyDisney account. Until then, an adult needs to manage her profile. When your daughter turns 13, you can invite her to create her own account and merge the existing profile.

This means you’ll need to manage her PhotoPass pictures for now. If you purchased Memory Maker through your MyDisney account, you’ll be able to view and download your daughter’s pictures if you manage her account (or if you’re connected to the person who manages her account through your Family & Friends List). When your daughter takes a PhotoPass picture, she’ll scan her MagicBand (officially called Disney Bands outside of the U.S.) or Key to the World Card and the photo will appear in your MyDisney account. I’m the person in my family who purchases Memory Maker, so I’m always responsible for downloading pictures and texting them to my family and friends.

Something that your daughter can do on her own phone is play games and unlock other interactive features throughout the parks in the Play Disney Parks app. My family’s favorite is DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, which is a fun way to explore EPCOT. There’s also Batuu Bounty Hunters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and different games you can play while waiting in line for attractions. Your daughter can set up her own account with your permission using the instructions on the Disney World website.

One last thing I wanted to mention before I go. Since it sounds like you’ll be taking PhotoPass pictures during your trip, make sure you don’t miss the Super Zoom and Tiny World Magic Shots in all four theme parks. These unique photos are my favorite, and they really capture the spirit of being in the parks!

I’m wishing you a magical holiday at Disney World next week! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
