Hiya, Kari!
I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney! How exciting that you're in the middle of planning a Walt Disney World vacation for next year. The planning process is really part of the magic! It’s so fun dreaming about your park days, choosing your must-do experiences, and even planning those much-needed non-park days.
I always recommend building in some time to relax outside of the parks, and it sounds like that’s exactly what you’re planning to do. Taking a little time to enjoy your resort, explore
Disney Springs, or simply slow down can make your vacation even more memorable!
Resort hopping is one of my favorite Disney activities! Last year, a few of my fellow planDisney panelists and I enjoyed a
monorail resort hop, and we had the absolute best time.
If you're staying at a Disney Resort, one of the easiest ways to visit other resorts is by taking advantage of
Disney's complimentary transportation. Keep in mind that resort-to-resort transportation usually requires a transfer. Typically, you’ll need to travel to a theme park and then continue on to the resort you’d like to visit. For a more direct option, you can book a
Minnie Van through the Lyft app or use another rideshare service.
If you’re not
staying at a Disney Resort, you have a few options as well. You can
park at one of the theme park parking lots and use Disney transportation to reach the resort you’d like to explore, or you can take a rideshare directly to the resort.
Another great option is to make an
Advance Dining Reservation at the resort you’d like to visit. This allows you to temporarily park your own vehicle at the resort for your dining reservation, typically for a few hours, giving you time to enjoy your meal and take in the resort’s unique atmosphere.
Kari, I hope this helps as you continue planning your trip! Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney!
Magic Awaits,
Kami
