Welcome back to planDisney, Shaun! I recently stayed at
Disney's Old Key West Resort, and it's one of my favorite properties at
Walt Disney World Resort. The Florida charm is relaxing, and
Olivia's Cafe is a hidden gem. I highly recommend the Key Lime Tart for a late-night dessert!
Since becoming empty-nesters, my husband and I always add
Disney Springs to our itineraries. One of our favorite activities is catching a movie at the
AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theaters. But my best tip is to head straight to
Gideon's Bakehouse to get in their virtual queue. Once on the list, you can shop and eat until you get a text to return. Trust me when I tell you the Peanut Butter Crunch cookie is a fantastic half-pound of deliciousness!
But back to Old Key West Resort! Most of the amenities at this resort, such as the Sandcastle Pool and Olivia's Cafe, are near the Hospitality House. This is also where you could hop on the
water taxi that meanders along a peaceful waterway directly to Disney Springs. The buildings closest to this central area are 11, 12, 13, 14, and 62.
This map will give you an idea of the resort's layout.
Once you've narrowed down your top choices, you can call
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations, and a friendly Cast Member can help you with that request. Of course, requests are always subject to availability, but I've found they will do their best to accommodate you.
Shaun, I'm sending some pixie dust and sunscreen your way so your upcoming visit will be full of old Florida charm! Please
stop back by planDisney anytime.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
