Why can I not link friends and family on the Disneyland app like how it works on the Disney World app? Is there a way to link them on the actual Disneyland app?

    Greetings, Monica!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for coming to us with your question. It's so nice to see you here and it would be my pleasure to help you. It sounds like you're a Walt Disney World veteran who will be coming to the West Coast to visit Walt's original Park! How exciting!

I'm glad that you've had a chance to poke around in the Disneyland Mobile App already because you'll be relying on it plenty while you're here. Unfortunately, there is no Family & Friends List in the Disneyland App like there is with My Disney Experience at the Walt Disney World Resort. The closest thing that we can do is to link all our tickets together but it should provide the same functionality. Thankfully, it's really easy to do this:

    • Disneyland Mobile App: Press the Features Menu at the bottom right and scroll down to "Link to Account." Press that and on the next screen, you can either use your phone's camera to scan the ticket's bar code or manually enter the ticket's ID number. This will link that ticket to your account.
    • Disneyland website: Reveal the pull-down menu under "My Disneyland" on the top banner and select "Link Tickets and Passes." You'll be prompted to enter each ticket ID that you'd like linked to your account.

Once all tickets are linked to your account, you'll be able to access reservations, virtual queues, and Lightning Lanes for these tickets. It might be a little different than what you're used to with My Disney Experience, but it's pretty intuitive and easy to learn.

Monica, I hope you find the Disneyland Resort just as magical and charming as all of us who call it our Home Park! As you pass the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A., take a look at the lamp in the second floor apartment window that is kept lit in honor of Walt Disney. You can actually visit the apartment on Walt's Main Street Story Tour! It's surreal to travel back in time up there and somewhat emotional to stand in his footsteps, looking through the window at Guests like he did!

Monica, I hope that this was helpful for you and I hope you get everyone linked up without any issues. Please write back to us again if you need anything else. You're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to hear from you! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
