Hi Melissa! Welcome to planDisney. Your very first visit to Disneyland is just around the corner, and that is so exciting! I’d be happy to help walk you through this next step.
One important difference between
Disneyland and
Walt Disney World is how
tickets,
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and
MagicBand+ are linked. At Disneyland, each guest does not need their own individual profile. Instead, you simply link everyone’s theme park tickets to your
MyDisney account. If you purchased your tickets directly from Disney while logged into your account, they may already appear automatically. If not, you can easily link them either on the Disneyland website or directly in the
Disneyland app. In the app, tap the menu icon (☰) in the bottom-right corner and select “My Tickets & Passes.” Then tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner and choose “Link Tickets & Passes.” From there, you can either type in each barcode number or scan the tickets using your phone’s camera. Once linked, any pre-purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass access attached to those tickets should appear automatically as well.
Linking your MagicBand+ is also simple in the Disneyland app. Open the menu icon (☰), scroll to the Account section, and select “MagicBand+.” Tap the blue plus sign and follow the prompts to pair your band. Once connected, you’ll be able to enter the parks, scan into Lightning Lane entrances, and interact with fun experiences throughout Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
One of my favorite little details is how MagicBand+ interacts with attractions and entertainment. During
Fantasmic!, the bands may light up and vibrate with the show, and mine always glows red near the end of
Haunted Mansion (a fitting reminder to hurry back).
Since this is your first Disneyland visit, I also have to recommend spending plenty of time in
Fantasyland, because many of the classic dark rides there are unique to Disneyland.
Snow White’s Enchanted Wish and
Alice in Wonderland are both wonderful attractions that feel especially charming and intimate. Over in Disney California Adventure,
Cars Land is absolutely breathtaking at night once the neon lights along Route 66 flicker on.
If more questions pop up as your trip approaches, Melissa, please don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney. We’re always happy to help you feel prepared for an unforgettable Disneyland adventure.
Have an amazing first visit filled with churros, attractions, and plenty of pixie dust!
