Welcome back to planDisney, Alda! Your Walt Disney World Resort visit will be here as fast as Donald Duck can do the backstroke, so let's talk about one of my favorite experiences on a warm spring day in Florida: Disney Water Parks!
During your upcoming April visit,
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will be welcoming guests to cool off and dive in. I think your kiddos are the perfect age to have some splashtacular fun at this ski-resort themed oasis. My husband and I just visited Blizzard Beach, so I'm happy to share some tips.
While there's plenty of seating throughout the water park, my first tip is to arrive early to scout out a shaded spot. This will be your home base where you can reconnect and relax during the day. A bonus tip:
book a Lodge Umbrella in advance. This way, your setup is guaranteed and ready to go when you arrive. You can
book these and
Polar Patios online, but they do sell out quickly.
I'm not sure how tall your children are, but little ones love
Tike's Peak with its junior tube ride, pint-sized slides, and more. Guests should be 48" or shorter to enjoy this Frozen-themed area. Another favorite for the whole family is Melt-Away Bay, a relaxing wave pool at the center of the park. And if you dream of floating down a lazy river, Cross Country Creek is the best.
If your kids are into thrills,
Teamboat Springs is my absolute favorite! It's a super-long ride in a family-sized raft down the mountain. And a bonus is to take the chairlift to the top. You'll feel like you're on a ski lift...in the middle of spring!
You can check out
all the attractions and experiences online, including height requirements. But we can't forget food! My husband and I worked up an appetite while we were there, so we
mobile ordered lunch through our My Disney Experience app. The Winter Harvest Salad at
Lottawatta Lodge was perfect on a hot day!
Alda, I hope you and your family have a swimmingly good time on your vacation. Thanks again for allowing
planDisney to help. Cannonball!!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
