Hi, We are visiting Disney World next week. I see Mickey's Christmas party is sold out when we are there. Do they ever add additional tickets after it's sold out?

    Dawn,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

I understand the desire to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The overall allure of Walt Disney World during the holidays is one of the reasons that it is so busy in late December. This party has a reputation as the ultimate showcasing of that holiday spirit.

Unfortunately, as my planDisney pal Matt mentioned in a recent answer, typically once a party is sold out, it is sold out. So, to my knowledge, for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, there is no waitlist, and I cannot recall ever seeing additional tickets go on sale later.

But please don't let that get you down. It is not as if the holiday lights only get turned on during the party. The park wears its full seasonal attire all day long. You really can get into the holiday spirit, and enjoy much of what you would want to see during normal operating hours. There are also a great many other fun holiday experiences throughout the resort, both in the parks and in the hotels. Here are a few ideas.

    HOLIDAY FUN #1
Resort hopping is more than just seeing the different resort themes. All of the deluxe resorts showcase special holiday displays, often created by their restaurant staff, that are worthy of the time to visit. Consider riding the monorail around to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to see the amazing gingerbread house that they built in the lobby. It is so big they have a cast member inside who sells gingerbread houses you can take with you! Disney's Contemporary Resort has a gingerbread castle by one of the sweeping windows in the Grand Canyon Concourse. And there are even more displays at the resorts along the Disney Skyliner routes!

    HOLIDAY FUN #2
Disney's Jollywood Nights is a new nighttime party, hosted at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Maybe that is your ticket to a snazzy holiday party!

    HOLIDAY FUN #3
The World Showcase pavilions in EPCOT tell the holiday stories from so many different corners of the globe. You don't have to see them all, but you will find each fascinating in its own right.

    HOLIDAY FUN #4
Disney Springs is always decked out for the holidays. This is a great evening destination, and maybe you can do some of your holiday shopping at the same time.

Please write back for more holiday fun ideas.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
