Hello! We're visiting Animal Kingdom in June. We are interested in having lunch at Tusker House; however, someone in our party is allergic to soy, sesame, sorghum, sunflower, tree nuts, wheat, and peanuts. Is there anything he can eat there? Thank you!

Jambo, Mary, and welcome to planDisney! You're in for a "wild" time on your upcoming visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. My family members have various allergies and dietary restrictions, so let's hop right in to see how you can ensure everyone in your safari enjoys some delicious food.

My first suggestion is to email the Special Diets Requests team as soon as you can. You can find their email address under the Frequently Asked Questions section, so let them know your party member's specific allergies and sensitivities. The team should reach back out soon with a plan! There are also helpful guidelines and tips about dining around the theme parks on this page.

My family dined at Tusker House Restaurant last year, and the selection was so varied and fun. And remember to let your server know your friend's allergies when you arrive. The chef will often stop by your table to go over your options; you'll feel like a VIP! And since this location has such a wide assortment of food, I feel confident the chef will be able to whip up something yummy.

Since your visit is coming up soon, I recommend securing a reservation at Tusker House now. You can always cancel or modify most dining reservations up to two hours before you arrive. I've even canceled through the Chat With Us feature on my mobile app! But here's hoping you can keep that Tusker House reservation and hang out with Donald and pals in their fun safari gear.

Mary, I hope I've eased your mind about dining at Walt Disney World Resort. My son eats a plant-based diet, so we've done the research and spoken with chefs, too. It always gives me peace of mind when Cast Members take dietary needs so seriously. Please stop by planDisney again. Kwaherini, friend!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
